Anita Jorgensen Lighting Design was established in 1996 and draws upon the diverse backgrounds and experience of its designers to provide a project with innovative and practical solutions. Our philosophy is to provide high quality and innovative design solutions to enhance architectural and interior design elements, within a reasonable budget and through a team process. The firm specializes in integrated lighting design services to architects, exhibit designers, interior designers and owners. We view our job as a collaborative process - to identify the needs of the project and find solutions that meet those needs in a cost effective, easily maintained, and aesthetically pleasing fashion.

We bring to the team experience with complex computerized control systems that integrate with a building's management system. We embrace computer technology throughout our design process - in design analysis, the latest modeling and calculation techniques.

Although we perform computerized modeling for each project, there is no substitute for "the real thing." A mock-up is always included in our projects to verify the interaction of light with the architectural form and materials, and to confirm our computer analysis. Mockups are used to study and confirm design concepts of critical lighting elements. We are committed to servicing our clients in a responsive manner with special attention paid to design innovation, schedule, budget, maintenance, and energy efficiency.

The firm is currently working successfully on a number of large and small scale projects ranging from museum projects, historic renovations, medical research laboratories and corporate offices. We are located in downtown Manhattan and the firm is a Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) certified by New York City, New York State and the New York City School Construction Authority (SCA) and is registered with the Small Business Administration (SBA). AJLD is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
