Anita Jorgensen, IESNA, IALD, LEED, LC has been practicing architectural lighting design in New York for over twenty years. Her background in art history and theatrical lighting design brings a strong sense of aesthetics and drama to her lighting approach. Her hands-on experience gained from extensive exhibition lighting design work translates into specifications for lighting systems which not only meet the immediate lighting requirements, but also provide for durability, ease of maintenance, and long term flexibility.
Anita received a BA in Art History and Fine Arts, Magna Cum Laude from Hunter College followed by a grant from the City University of New York to study Italian Renaissance Art and Fine Art in Florence, Italy. Anita received an MFA in Design, accompanied by a Teaching Assistantship, from New York University.
Following graduate school, she joined the lighting design firm of Fisher Marantz Stone, where she spent several years as a designer and project manager. After FMS she became a staff lighting designer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art where she designed the lighting for special exhibitions, permanent art installations, period rooms and architectural renovations of galleries and offices. Anita's retail experience includes four years as the window display lighting designer for Barneys New York. In addition, she was the lighting designer for special events at New York's historic Rainbow Room and has extensive experience in theatrical lighting.

Katherine Lindsay (Designer) Katherine Lindsay graduated with a Bachelor of Design with Honors in Interior Architecture from Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since then, she has gained 19 years of experience as a designer for highly acclaimed and award-winning lighting design firms in London and New York City. In 2019, Katherine was named one of the top 40 under 40 lighting designers globally. She has completed numerous projects managed from concept stage through construction administration in a wide range of building genres - residences, offices, schools, retail, libraries, places of worship, galleries and museums. Talented in creating architectural lighting details and executing clean and flawless lit effects by physically studying how light reacts to various surfaces and textures.
Katherine is proficient in concept sketches and diagrams, photoshop renderings, design presentations, photometric calculations, details, mock-ups, CAD and Revit lighting plans, luminaire specifications, dimming schedules, shop drawing reviews, and punch listing from project site visits.

Joe Ballweg (Designer) received his BFA in fine arts with a minor in art history from the University of Washington in 1998, and went on to study at Boston University where in 2001 he received his MFA in fine arts.
Joe was introduced to lighting at Boston University Art Gallery where he installed and lit a variety of exhibitions. After relocating to New York City, he worked at Cheim & Read as a preparator where he continued gaining experience lighting challenging and large scale exhibitions.
In 2006, Joe pursued his interest in lighting and began working for AJLD and Linnaea Tillett Lighting Design as an assistant for residential and museum lighting installations including Goya's Last Works at the Frick Collection and Paris New York at the Museum of the City of New York.
His role at AJLD broadened in 2008 as he performed lighing analyses and layouts for current projects.
Joe enjoys biking and ranting about corporate control of the media and government.

Stephanie O'Donoghue (Bookkeeper) Stephanie O'Donoghue graduated from Berkeley College and has been with AJLD for several years. Stephanie functions as AJLD's bookkeeper, business manager, and keeps the office running smoothly. Stephanie excels at record keeping, tracking project schedules, and organizes daily financial transactions, including managing accounts payable and receivables, processing payroll, reconciling bank statements, categorizing expenses, and generating basic financial reports such as P&L and Balance Sheets for accurate, up-to-date financial records for compliance and cash flow understanding.
