Naomi Castillo (Designer) received her BS in Environmental Design with a minor in architecture history and a minor in business administration at Texas A&M University in 2002.
After moving to New York City and working as an architectural designer for a couple of years she decided to transition into lighting design. In 2005 she began working at SBLD Studio designing lighting layouts for corporate interior projects for various architecture firms. Projects included lobbies, conference centers, corporate offices, and theaters.
In 2008 she left SBLD Studio and began freelancing at various lighting firms including Tillett Lighting Design where she help render and develop exterior lighting concepts for several projects, Medium Base where she worked on the renovation of the historical Chelsea Hotel, Whitehouse Lighting, and Clinard Studio. In 2012 she joined AJLD as a designer.
Naomi also freelances as an architectural photographer, volunteers at the MoMA, and is training to be a docent at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
