Eric Chenault, LC, LEED A.P. (Project Manager) received his BFA in Lighting Design from the North Carolina School of the Arts in 1996. Prior to working with AJLD in 1998, Eric has had extensive professional work experience on Theatrical projects in New York and abroad.

Eric's theatrical lighting background and experience with complex computer-based lighting controls led to his quickly assuming on-site project management roles integrating creative operations and commissioning systems for projects such as Science City - a Children's Science Museum in Kansas City, as well as the International Spy Museum in Washington D.C.

Eric's controls integration and on-site commissioning expertise were an integral part of the successful opening of the Lumen Award winning Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame project, designed by Gwathmey Siegel & Associates.

Eric thinks of lighting as a material with unique qualities and functions; it is both intangible, yet can be transformed to appear as a three dimensional object. Embracing the sustainable design philosophies and research of the US Green Building Council and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Eric is fully committed to the diverse applications of daylighting and electric lighting integration. This cohesion is demonstrated most recently on the 125,000 SF Vanderbilt University Medical Center - MRB IV project, currently under construction, which involved extensive Radiance dynamic daylight simulations to develop the daylighting control strategies used to design an aesthetically pleasing yet energy efficient building.

In addition to Eric's experience with Anita, he has extensive professional work experience working on numerous Broadway productions and on Tony award winning lighting designs such as Cabaret and Fosse. Eric's diverse experience includes museum installations, industrial and special events lighting as well as large scale institutional and commercial projects.

His multi-faceted work experience and on-site complex problem solving skills have made him an essential team member on unique projects throughout the US and Europe.
